Car Codes & Dash: OBD2 Scanner · Developer: InQutech LLC
Package: com.inqutech.carcodesdash · Updated October 20, 2026

Current pre-release build

This policy describes the reviewed pre-release implementation. The app is not yet publicly available. The policy and Google Play Data safety information must be checked against the final release and its configured services before launch.

1. Who we are and what this covers

InQutech LLC, based in Edison, New Jersey, develops Car Codes & Dash: OBD2 Scanner. This policy covers the app. Our website privacy notice covers this website. The app does not require an InQutech account.

2. Vehicle and app data stored on your device

The app stores vehicle names and VINs, scanner Bluetooth addresses, photos, diagnostic reports and recordings, and settings in local app storage. These support vehicle profiles, scanner connections, diagnostics, saved results, and your preferences.

InQutech does not operate a diagnostic server that automatically receives your vehicle information or diagnostic results. Local storage does not mean all app-related data stays on your device: sharing, Android backups, Google advertising, and Google Play are described below.

3. Exports, feedback, and Android backups

When you choose to export, share, or send feedback, the selected information goes to the app, service, or recipient you choose. Check the contents before sending, especially VINs, photos, and reports. The destination’s own privacy practices apply.

Android may back up or transfer eligible app data according to your device settings and the app’s backup configuration. This can include cloud backup or device-to-device transfer. Copies in backups or exports can remain after data is removed from the app. See Android’s backup documentation.

4. Google advertising and privacy choices

The app integrates Google AdMob through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. Google’s SDK can collect and share IP addresses (which may indicate approximate location), app and ad interactions, app/SDK performance and diagnostic information, and device identifiers, including advertising or app-set identifiers where applicable. Google uses this information for advertising, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention. Processing depends on the service configuration and applicable privacy choices.

The app integrates Google’s User Messaging Platform for applicable advertising privacy choices and an in-app privacy-options entry point when required. The final consent-message configuration and device behavior must be verified before release. You can also manage advertising identifiers in Android settings.

Read Google’s Mobile Ads SDK data disclosure, how Google uses data from partner apps, and the Google Privacy Policy.

5. Google Play purchases

An optional one-time purchase to remove ads is planned through Google Play Billing. Google Play processes the purchase under its own terms and privacy practices. Store availability and price will be shown by Google Play when the app and product are released. Do not submit payment-card details to InQutech.

6. Device access

Scanner-related device access is used for connections to your OBD2 adapter. Photo, file, and sharing features use the access or system pickers required for the action you choose. Available prompts depend on Android version and the feature. You can review app permissions in Android settings; disabling access can limit related features.

7. Retention, deletion, and security

Local app information remains until you remove it using available app controls or clear the app’s storage in Android settings. Clearing storage can permanently remove locally saved information. Uninstalling the app removes its local app storage, but exported files, shared copies, and backups must be managed separately in their destination or backup settings.

Google handles information it receives under its own policies. InQutech cannot delete copies held only on your device or in other services. The app has no InQutech account to delete.

If you submit the support form, your name, email address, selected product, subject, and message are stored in the support database so InQutech can respond. Ticket messages, status, and related delivery records remain until deleted; no automatic deletion period is promised. Use the support form to request access, correction, or deletion of information you shared directly, subject to applicable recordkeeping requirements. Attachments are not accepted by the form. The public support form uses Cloudflare production Turnstile protection. Amazon SES processes transactional support emails and email replies are handled by authenticated support services. Use the secure ticket portal or follow the reply instructions in each support email. The website privacy notice explains support data, secure ticket links, and email processing. Staff access to the support dashboard is restricted to the authorized owner; saving a request does not confirm email delivery.

Keep your device secure and review files before sharing. Local storage, email, backups, and third-party services have different security protections; no method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

8. Contact and changes

For app privacy questions or requests, use the support form or call 732-603-1809. InQutech LLC is based in Edison, New Jersey, United States. Please describe your request without including sensitive vehicle details or identity documents.

We will update this page when the app’s data practices change. The date above identifies this version.
